Systems Specialist, 04/2009 – Present

  •  Site lead for an IBM enclave consisting of 3 Operating Systems, 54 server and 7 Databases.
  • Optimized IBM DS4800 (SAN) containing 10TB+ of storage divided among 80 drives, 8 arrays and 61 logical drives.
  • Increased security posture by overhauling virus protection suite, applying appropriate vendor patches and  implementing over 700 DoD security checklist items.
  • Developed standard operating procedures by documenting all functions of production.
  • Monitored 54 Java Virtual Machines providing services for over 10,000 users daily.
Network System Administrator, 05/2008 – 05/2009

  • Maintained two secure networks consisting of 65 servers containing 61TB of data.
  • Performed tier 2 base network support to 1500 users from 18 joint agencies.
  • Installed streaming video infrastructure for unmanned aerial vehicles to Office of Special Investigation personnel.
  • Networked 100+ printers to comply with new network standard 2 months before deadline.
  • Created and implemented network operating contingency procedures during prolonged communication outages.
Information Security and Assurance, 05/2006 - 05/2008

  • Manager of computer security and emissions security for Incirlik AB, Turkey.
  • Oversaw network configuration change proposals to ensure compliance with Air Force policies.
  • Educated 3500 users and inspected 4000+ networked items on security compliance standards.
  • Maintained software library of approved applications for organizations and users.
  • Developed and initiated procedures preventing classified material from residing on the unclassified network.
  • Converted 3 years of paper records into electronic format.
  • Vital member in Two Person Control teams which maintained surety of nation’s nuclear assets.

  • Maintained and accounted for 8,700 network items with an estimated value of $9.6M.
  • Constructed a $3.8M PC upgrade program replacing over 4,000 workstations in 4 years.
  • Procured, serviced and augmented install of residential area ADSL infrastructure.
  • Reutilized 1500+ items to perform new functions such as image servers, test drones for training labs and morale systems.
  • Performed free computer maintenance services and installed open-source software to help augment non-affordable commercial software products for college students.
